A little story from Reddit:

TIFU by trying to see the Red Hot Chili Peppers in concert

So this happened two weekends ago, but we'll start back around Christmas.
I was trying to be an awesome boyfriend and looking for the most awesome Christmas present of all time for my girlfriend of a few months. I thought "Hey! I'll look for concert tickets!" I'm going through Ticketmaster, and I find tickets for a Red Hot Chili Peppers concert in late February about 2 hours away. Holy. Shit. I have just made the score of the century. Tickets are 70 dollars, so I figured this was just about right for something in the middle of a tour. I ask my roommates for help picking where we should sit/get the tickets for, and I buy them. I get a hotel for the weekend, and we're all set. I show my girlfriend the tickets (which are on my phone) on Christmas, and she's ecstatic. (Best boyfriend ever, right?)
So the weeks go by. We keep getting more and more excited for this concert. We're listening to RHCP every day, talking about the concert, etc. We drive two hours up, get to the hotel, hang out for a bit, and head over to the concert. The first thing we see is a guy in a kilt. Huh. Weird. But hey he's just doing his thing. We go in, and there are bagpipers on stage. Still weird, but maybe they're just opening for RHCP? About 5 minutes go by and it slowly dawns on me and my girlfriend: we are not at a Red Hot Chili Pepper's concert. I pull out my phone (where the tickets were) and I read it very, very closely. This was not the Red Hot Chili Peppers. I had paid 70 dollars a ticket to see the Red Hot Chili PIPERS. A bagpipe band. I could have died right then and there. My girlfriend bursts out laughing, and texts her entire family. I was mortified. In that moment, I already knew I would never live this down until the day I die.
The concert, despite being a huge disappointment for not being the Red Hot Chili Peppers, was actually pretty good. After it was over, we met a few other people at a bar that had made the same mistake that I had, but they had realized a few days prior to the concert, not in the theater. My friends and girlfriend have reminded me every day since how much I fucked up.
Read your tickets, people.
