I'm heading up to Boston this weekend to meet up with some old college buddies, and celebrate Oktoberfest in style

For the rest of the weekend, I was wondering if you guys might have some suggestions for things to do? I'm already pretty familiar with the downtown Boston/Cambridge area (went to college there) but I was wondering if there's anything within driving distance of Boston that I could see/check out with my friends during the day (i.e. not the ducktour/typical pilgrims' trail tour!)?
