It is a hell of a lot cheaper to prevent than treat in almost all cases. Health insurance companies push the vaccine for this reason as it is better for their bottom line.

It is a way I'd really like to see the US health care change in many other areas, but that would mean the US culture would have to change, which isn't happening anytime soon. We love our shitty for us/over portioned food that leads to many health issues that are fairly easy to prevent.
