The E9x M3's factory air intake system is a near perfect design, with very little room for improvement. The car's air intake system maintains very quiet operation while also doing an excellent job of cleaning the intake air, and allowing the S65B40 engine to make great power.
Most car enthusiasts, however, love to hear a bit of extra intake roar, and in removing the "quiet operation" requirement from the design, Macht Schnell is not only able to give the M3 a great intake sound, but also provide a welcome increase in power.
The Macht Schnell filter is a direct replacement for the factory filter, and uses a washable cotton gauze material for a long service life. This filter eliminates the charcoal liner to imrpove airflow and allow the engine to make more power.
