Just installed the M Performance V2 Electronic Steering wheel today in my 6MT E92 M3 and followed this DIY. Very detailed and well written, thanks so much! Just a quick note, as regards the blue connector on the passenger side in my car, the smaller connector inside the blue one was white (unlike the black one mentioned here).
Also, I wired my A1 and A2 wires into Pin 1 and Pin 12 of the CAS module respectively. I used the supplied quick connects for this. The wire for Pin 1 in my car was red and Pin 12 was brown/black. This provides constant power and will retain memory functions for the steering wheel. I believe using the cigarette lighter as a power source will not retain steering wheel memory functions as it is not a "constant on" power source.
Also, it's important to be extra careful once you remove the old clock spring as the whole assembly is now loose and it's very easy to remove the whole thing by mistake.
