Bought this exact kit on amazon, used 1 of the 5 provided inserts, cleaned it all off and put it into storage. 4 inserts remaining, and the repair worked and held beautifully (going on 6 years now).
This kit specifically contains 9.2mm long inserts that are designed to work with the shallower threads in our M3 oil pans, as opposed to the 16mm long inserts in the normal 3-series kit.
