I have no experience with ECS but judging PSS to PS4S there is a large improvement in comfort and performance with the PS4S. I always felt the PSS was a little skittish when <60F and as a street tire it took quite warm temps to perform best. My PS4S perform fairly well down to 45F and they are quieter and slightly softer over sharp edges while maintaining agile handling. I feel they are well worth the price if you like to drive aggressively and want best street traction. They are my favorite street tire to date but I would not take them to the track.
