My shop wrapped all of the edges, took off emblems, etc. Like I said, my installation was a good one but I know there's a lot of people who claim to be experienced...and aren't. Definitely true.
I've been getting clear bras on my cars since 20 years ago when the products first started appearing. I've used many installers and it's usually a mixed bag. The top installers in my area have a 2-3 month backlog of cars and charge an arm and leg. Because of that sometimes I've had to use less expensive installers and/or ones with earlier openings. It's always a trade off.
