I disagree Chris, from a performance perspective you are correct, but what about the financial one?
My criteria? Sports cars that get the blood flowing that I can buy (with an acceptable, say <12 month wait).
I can comfortably afford an M3, C63 or a GT-R but would have to sell my house or eat baked beans to purchase a Turbo. I am not going to sell my house or eat baked beans (apart from the odd breakfast) so it is just natural for me to compare these sub $200k cars.
From purely a performance perspective you are spot on though, there is no comparison.
Do you see where I am coming from? This wouldn't be the first time if I am making no sense!
