With reference to the bearings with excessive wear and/or surface scoring, have you recommended any changed cranks due to same?

If not, what is your process to inspect the crank when face does with a similar situation? Is it just a visual? A magnified visual? Or is crank 'damage' not really a concern as the rod bearings are sacrificial 'wear' items?

Thanks for the info!
Thanks, trying to provide as much information here as I can that way people can compare and contrast and check for patterns etc.

While we are in there for the bearing service we do perform an inspection of all the visible areas around the crank. We have only seen maybe two cranks that showed signs of damage in all of the years doing this and those were on engines that were beyond abused and we expected to see it. Normally for the average car that rolls through here, we do not see any damage to them at all, even the higher mileage cars. The material of the crank vs the material of the bearing, the bearing by design is on the receiving end of all of that wear.

PM's answered. Thanks guys!
