It's not just the media and their profits; let's not overlook the politicians, and their manipulation of votes. For example, before the investigation is concluded and the facts are in, the governor of MN said:
"[Governor] Dayton said that based on the evidence, the police response was "way in excess of what the situation called for." He added, "Would this have happened if the passengers were white? I don't think it would've."
This comment served no purpose at the time, except to undermine law enforcement and fan flames of public rage. Lots of people might legitimately say that, but not a sitting Governor. He should be impeached.
