GTS uses a 5mm spacer in the front. I'm thinking it has something to do with the 30mm stagger front to rear (255/285) compared to stock 245/265.
As far as tire sidewall height being shorter in the rear with 285/30, I'm not sure the car knows a difference as someone said previously. It's a very small percentage change from 265/35.
