I didn't really force anything. I just twisted it on, then gave it a couple hard knudges. Nothing crazy. It's still definitely not as tight as it was originally - I had to pull pretty damn hard to get it loose.
On a side note, the damn thing won't read, it's just constantly "reading" but not spitting out a measurement.
I don't know if the first time it re-reads it takes forever or if somehow the sensor is faulty now. What a headache.
