No. The oil flows to the housing thermostat eventually heating up and causing it to open, allowing passage thru the system to the cooler. However, once fully heated and open the thermo sensor remains in the oil flow disrupting the efficiency of flow. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong but that is my analysis after looking at the components.
