I personally dont care much about "legendary status". I will take a more technologically advanced car over an older model almost always ( well, i'll reserve my judgement for that future turbo m3
Owning the latest M3 is already enough of being part of a legendary car series for me. I really dont want to drive a 200 hp beater that back in 80s was winning races. C'mon!
But if I had the budget to buy one of these GTSs, Iwould not do that. I'd buy stock just like I did and build the ultimate car for myself with the parts that I want. For me, individual is more than being "one of 150". Or, for the money, I'd probably buy a 911, again, the latest and the greatest GT3
