I got a V1 after a bogus ticket I was given on my motorcycle this summer. I was written up for more than I was going, conveniently putting me in the next fee/revenue tier. The officer didn't show up for my court date, so justice was served in the end. Although he probably wrote 5-10 more tickets in the time he could have been spending in court.

The CHP use Ka band out here, and the Valentine always gives me plenty of warning when I get close to radar. The downside is all the false alarms in the other bands. The laser detector is pretty much worthless. It goes off all the time from sun glints and oncoming headlights.

I wish I had the option to disable bands that I know aren't used for speed measurement. The Escorts definitely have an advantage there with the GPS filtering. I don't know why Valentine doesn't develop a similar product (other than they've more than recouped their original development costs and are making a tidy profit on the V1).

I think you have a pretty good case for court. At the very least you should be able to plea for leniency and get the points and fees reduced.

Good luck.
