I wouldn't drive any of the DOT slicks to/from the track. If you come across any water on the road (rain, sprinklers, etc.) you'll have no grip. Also those tires can only handle so many heat cycles and you'd be adding heat cycles just getting to and from the track.

Best to stick with > 100TW tires if you are driving them to the track IMHO.
