Exhaust Bolts (MS X-pipe install)

Some of the existing torque bolts at the header/xpipe are trashed and replacements are $13 ea. The xpipe came with 8 nuts and bolts (4 flanged connections on the MS xpipe) but are smaller than the OE ones. Were these intended to use in place of the larger OE or just spares? If shouldn't use them, can I get away with similar size bolt from home depot? The only thing Im worried about is the heat and cheaper HD bolt may not hold up as well. But the bolts that came with the MS xpipe dont look like anything special and they'll be subject to the same heat so maybe a cheap bolt will be fine. Has anyone used none OE bolt w/o issue?
