I ordered and installed this Hood strut from FCP and can confirm fitment on an 08 E93 M3. I dont see why it would not work on other models in our series.

FCP Euro $11 each. Works/fits well, but note is very stiff to close. Prob softens with time. But no more hood hitting me in the head when adding oil ;-).
