Absolutely - overall wear and tear is significantly different. At 30k, a well kept car will be virtually indiscernible from a brand new car.

A 70k car will be nothing of the sort. Are there very nice 70k cars? Heck yea, I have one (e46m) but it's NOTHING like my 30k car. Paint chips, wear and tear, interior wear, sun fading, and on and on and on. No comparison - you will never make the 70k car as nice as the 30k car without a full restoration which would be stupid.

So, for the same money, you can either buy a low mileage mint condition older model OR a higher mileage/more worn car with better tail lights.
