Just a follow up.
Everything went as you had described, it took me around 5 hours to do the job.
The replacement starter I bought was a Bosch, but it had a small tab that wont allow the cables to twist on the solenoid, however it didn't let me plug in the one wire with the clip, I was able to knock the tab off and the plug went right on.
I also got lucky with the small t30 bolt on top of the starter, once I got it out, I noticed it was a 5mm Allen head bolt?!?

How much was the Bosch starter? Any problems with it so far? The oem one is like $500 online and I believe I'm having a starter issue so looking for possible parts right now.
