Welcome aboard! There's a lot of participation by the IMSA series drivers/teams on Twitter, so you should definitely follow @Turnermotrsport, @RLLracing, and @bmwusaracing. They're not a BMW team, but the @MagnusRacing account can be hilarious.

This is a great time to hop aboard the IMSA train. They just standardized the GTD class on the FIA GT3 spec, which has increased the size of the field significantly. GTLM is kind of thin, but the racing in GTD has made up for it, IMO. Wish there were more teams fielding the M6, but on the up side, BMW is one of the few with teams in GTLM and GTD.
