Depends what kind of driving you do but most stuff is good for a lot longer than they say unless it's strictly a track only car. 20k miles on glass smooth highway isn't going to put any significant wear on the shock vs 5k miles on some crap roads.

I actually don't know anyone that's had their R&T rebuilt just because they had X number of miles on them.

Ohlins USA is also just a little south of Asheville, NC so not too far away.
