Incorrect (well, except for the guns thing, so long as it has ammo...). Voltage DRIVES current (amps).
Your body has about 1 MegaOhm of resistance. 1 kV across your heart drives 1 mA of current, which can stop your heart and kill you.
You can grab onto leads with 1000 A and 100 volts and you would be absolutely fine, though a bit tingly.
