I picked up a Solo DL data logger from Rich over at M-World last week (thanks btw!). Aside from my interest in improving my lap times, I've been really interested in data visualization over-layed on track video. I've been looking into the various packages and the AIM Smartycam seems to have the best looking graphics (I'm a designer by trade so I care about this stuff
) out of them all, but it requires you to own the physical camera. So I decided to take a crack at my own version of it and tailored it specifically for the M3.
Obviously I won't be able to use this (although it would be cool if one of those companies wanted to work with me on something similar), but it was a fun exercise and I thought I'd share it.
My goal was for it to look good and focus on what's most important when reviewing video. Am I missing any key components? Maybe steering angle?
