This is very true. If you are a single vehicle on the road or even around a few other cars, LEOs will have their radar/laser unit on pause. Then activate it at the last second for a speed measurement thus countering anyone with Radar detection devices. Nothing you can do if you don’t see the cop car and your device only goes off for a split second.
Plus it doesn’t help if you get stopped and the LEO sees your radar detector, then he or she knows you are intending to speed. Which usually means full price ticket.
