Car had around 26k miles when i made that post 1 1/2 year ago. I suppose it is blowby on the rings at sustained driving on the freeway. But then again :
1. I am the original owner, took delivery of this car at the Welt in Munich in the summer of 2013.
2. oil consumption has been like this since factory delivery. Initially the BMW dealer told me oil consumption will reduce after break-in. It didn't. I wanted to believe him because it was my brand new car. I have numerous dealer invoices showing i complained about oil consumption over the years. They've evaded the issue everytime claiming it meets BMW tolerance on oil consumption. They eventually printed out a sheet that gave bmw oil consumption spec for motorsport 'S' engines (S65, S85) :
2.5 liters per 1,000 miles
which is = 380 miles / 1 quart of oil.
