Whatever the output is, it'll have to be quite a bit in order to match the 3's acceleration numbers. It's quite the porker.

I match your skepticism as I too have only experience with turbo unit and none with superchargers but the figures speak for themselves, 350hp and 310ft/lbs is more than what the 335i has and then the S4 will also be offered with DSG which also has proven gains in acceleration.
With this combination of more power and dual clutch will make the S4 quicker if only slightly so. Then there is the handling, the A4 has better weight balance than the A5, with a shorter engine in the S4 than S5 it should handling even better and we all know that the 335i and S5 have almost identical times on each of the tracks tested which should mean the S4 is a little quicker again than both of them.
