Rare does not mean desirable. Selling wood trim for an M3 would be difficult regardless of how rare it is because nobody wants that. Very few people swap away from carbon leather trim while people who have other types of trim swap to carbon leather regularly. Carbon leather is the most desirable and therefore has the most value, simple as that. Check out the classified section here and see how much it goes for compared to any other style.
