No. They've had this finalized for some time, and even in general they probably have a solid roadmap for a few years out. He's definitely not just walking away without leaving any vision or guidance. Regardless, Tim Cook will be a great replacement and Jony Ives is really the driving force behind their designs anyways.
In fact, I really don't expect to see a radical shift from the company any time in the near future. They became the most valuable company in the world this month, so the are doing something right. It's sad to see him go, but in a sense it brings closure. We knew it was inevitable, but what he did with the company was nothing short of amazing. It's as if he did what he knew he had to do to bring them to this level, hardened out his replacements and left at his glorious peak instead of staying for too long and holding them back.
