A bit OT but I always upgrade after the hype dies down and the phones take a price cut. For instance, I just upgraded to a manufactured refurbished Iphone 4 for $99. These are basically 30 day return items so there was nothing wrong with it after inspection. However, since switching I have to say this phone is worse (reception wise) than my previous 3GS. I'm even considering sending it back unless there's some kind of fix? I have a case that I purchased which is en route which I hope that helps.
EDIT: The case helped quite a bit with the reception issues.
