Cut 500 cal per day and you can lose 1lb per week (roughly).

On the exercise front, I did a rough 75 mile ride earlier this year with around 4000 ft of vertical. (cross bike, some road, some trails, paths, some singletrack underbiking, pretty rough) This was an all day affair. Much easier to control what goes in.

All that said, I eat well, have good bloodwork metrics, ride 2-3k miles a year, swim, etc. Still very hard to get under 18-20% body fat.

So yeah, you can be active and fat (or chubby?) for sure.
