I think the more likely thing to happen is an NA motor augmented by electric motors that are powering only the front wheels. As motors move to in-hub designs, this will happen.

Ferrari is doing this with the new SF90 - this provides torque vectoring at all 4 wheels. That thing will be a monster on track.
