I recently added a 2015 e84 x1 35ito our stable as my "winter beater" and to keep miles low on m3. While a capable car its own I'm struck by the relative lack of quality and refinement in x1 compared to m3. They are both based on the same platform but m3 has much less road noise and just feels much more solid. X1 also has more rattles and creaks inside. Steering feel is better than newer bmws but still no comparison to m3.
