That top button is usually the front foglight switch on a 335 but in an M3 it toggles the headlights on/off overriding the dial setting. You might think aww that's dumb but in my state, it's illegal to have the headlights off with the wipers on...and as you probably know if you have it on "Auto" and it's raining but bright outside the headlights won't come on. Well, now all I have to do is press that top button instead of changing my Auto headlight setting everytime it rains during the day.
