a quick update, I replaced my lower pan, side gasket and 2 high-pressure hoses a year ago @51k miles. after a year 7k miles, one of the pressure hose is slowly dripping at the crimp fitting and there's a tiny amount of weeping from the vertical side gasket. I did use all oem replacement parts, and the tech torqued them to bmw spec, so it seems either bmw has some design/quality control issues or I am just extremely unlucky.
