Mission Accomplished...sort of.
I ended up unclipping the connector body from the top of the fan shroud and then was able to unclip the harness wires from the horizontal wireway of the shroud.
Once I did that, I was able to fold the wires toward the front of the engine and then the fan was able to move toward the radiator.
Enough so that I can get my A/C and PS idler fastener and pulley in and out.
I'm going to use a 115mm long stud, with nut and washer, instead of the 100mm long bolt. My belief is that this will ease future servicing of the idler pulley.
Not being able to remove the fan assembly because of this 1 piece intercooler is really starting to bug me though.
