From USA Today article April 10, 2018...

"Automakers shipped at least 1,000 units of each of nearly 20 models from American plants in 2017, according to research firm LMC Automotive." BMW shipped 107,000 vehicles from Sparatanburg to China in 2017. 28% of plant production, yet the X-Series all in all have about 37% USA part content.

WOW is this a big problem!

IIRC the US has a 2% tariff on Chinese produced cars, while China has 25% on US cars. So where has everyone been crying about BMW lost profit and jobs with the 25% tariff (vs. 2%) ALREADY imposed on BMW USA-produced X-Series...

A manual transmission can be set to "comfort", "sport", and "track" modes simply by the technique and speed at which you shift it; it doesn't need "modes", modes are for manumatics that try to behave like a real 3-pedal manual transmission. If you can money-shift it, it's a manual transmission. "Yeah, but NO ONE puts an automatic trans shift knob on a manual transmission."
