Yes correct In 08-09 cars the module is tucked behind the carpet/insulation against the fender in the battery box location.
I also have non-iDrive car. I added the $265 VO, but I have read elsewhere that it was not necessary. I have not tested it personally as far as dropping pressure to verify. I also have a button on my mid dash area that is supposed to do something related to tire monitoring lol.
