Second what "horror threads" are you referencing?? I'm assuming the "rod bearings" thread. I guess you missed all the low-mileage blown engines, some covered under warranty and some not. Instead of spreading your speculation do some research.
Looks like this is a solid car and well-maintained. Obviously this car is one of the keepers. If you want a warranty, research and purchase a reputable aftermarket warranty product.
