I was in the process of pulling my cluster apart after removing the needles and the top white part abruptly came apart from the black part. The LCD somehow hung on to the white part and the ribbon ended up tearing, almost in half!
For anyone trying this, be very gentle pulling the two halves apart.
Now I need to find a way to replace the ribbon, FML.
