If they have a matching X-pipe or whatever, get that. It will be designed to work with the mufflers and provide a nice sound. Simply hacking off resonators or Lego-building an exhaust with different vendors is what leads to those raspy noises everyone complains about.
It all gets back to the idea of an exhaust SYSTEM.
