CFM output is linear in any gear driven SC setup. The differences and variation of boost through the RPM range is mostly based on vanos configuration and throttle control. Some engines (like the 4.6L I assume) benefits from more overlap in some areas than other. If you look at PencilGeek's torque curve it is very smooth and strong throughout even if boost varies, this indicates advanced vanos calibration has been done to optimize VE vs filling in the various RPM ranges to achieve an optimal and smooth torque curve.
