There is a Bridgestone 145/70r18 that's actually a better size (closer match to the standard tire diameters) than the Maxxis, but it's quite a bit more expensive. elh0102 sourced one of the Bridgestone's from Tire Rack a while back. He said, "You won’t see the compact spare tires listed, just call and ask".
