Well if were talking HP,weight and grip differences between the 3..

Gotta remember the e36 suspension was pretty much carried over to the e46,with the exception of the e46 having the stiffer chassis and better tires.

e36 240HP 3200lbs .89g skid pad

e46 333HP 3400lbs .89g skid pad

e92 414HP 3600lbs .98g skid pad

So in reality a well driven e36 will have no trouble with an e46.Where the e92 will blow both of them away around a road course.
