Hey all,
Just saying hi - after a brief, frustrating 2.5 year affair with an Audi A5 (all looks, nothing else), I bought an E93 SSII M3 DCT a week ago, bringing me back to BMW. (and this forum)
Still obviously in the break-in, but managed to have some fun under 5500 rpm today anyway, doing two loops. 1) SF - Woodside - La Honda - Hwy 1 - SF. 2) SF - Golden Gate - Mt Tam - Stinson - Hwy 1 - SF. I was relatively lucky without *too* many slow people or cyclists in front of me except on the way back from Marin.
All I have to say is holy #@$%. I've never owned anything *remotely* close to this car in any way shape or form, including my 06 E90. The noise, the roof, the noise, the acceleration, the noise, the throttle blip on downshifts, instantaneous shifts, and lest I forget, the noise.
I find myself not minding any of the 101 commutes I have to do once or twice a week, as it just gets me closer to 1200 miles :-D
