I've driven the M2 several times and have been in the 2er chassis on lease for almost 3 years now. As many of you know I had an E90 M3 ZCP for a few years and regret every day letting it go. The M2 has more grunt for anything under 80mph, handles noticeably better, and exterior looks in the LCI with any color but blue has a slight edge to me over E9x. Interior is fine and only a small step down from E9x and the tech is quite a bit ahead but still behind Audi. Seats are equally comfortable and gripping for aggressive driving. I think M2 sounds great for a turbo but of course S65 can't be beat.
If I'm using my brain, the M2 makes way more sense for me except it's $60k. If I'm using my heart, I miss the E9x something fierce. While it's potentially half the price of the M2, used ownership has its financial risks. Tough call for me overall and I'm going to drive an E92 on Monday to remind myself what I might be getting into.
