It's well built and very stable. There is a metal locking bar plus the pressure in the hydraulic cylinder on each side. Its way more stable and safer than jack stands, especially when jacking one corner at a time. You can always use additional safety stands or put ramps under the wheels if you are paranoid. Check out this video to see how overbuilt it is.




Also, they low enough for my competition package E92 to drive over so you can just leave them in the parking spot if you don't want to move or store them.
