There will always be small differences in camber requirements from car to car, even if the wheel specifications are exactly the same. Ride height and tire brand make a big difference, and the Trofeo's run very wide.
Also, I am not sure he HAD to run -3.8 degrees up front, it is possible that -3.6 would be sufficient as well. From the photo's, it looks like the shoulders of the front tires are pretty close as is, but under compression is really what matters.
Keep in mind the 18x10" ET25 is only 3mm more aggressive towards to fenders in comparison, as the extra 1/2" of width is mostly on the inside. Front camber requirements for both the 18x9.5" ET22 and 18x10" ET25 are going to be quite similar in the -3.5 to -4 degree range.
