I pulled my original 2009 s65 motor and DCT and replaced it with a 2010 donor. However, after tear down it was clearly and intentionally misdiagnosed with bottom end "issues" which it doesn't have and I was scammed. My loss your gain. Pics of the bearings and crank are below. The crank is pristine.
Used donor motors alone go for about 13k. It includes harness to dct and includes AC and motor mounts etc. I took the bottom end apart and inspected all bearings which look amazing for 117k on it. The car ran fine then sputtered one day driving so I sent it to a shop that ended up scamming me. The donor motor in fact did the same thing at install and it turned out to be bad ignition grounds!!
After inspection I reinstalled everything with a snap on torchangle tech wrench to factory spec per TIS including stretching the stock rod bolts 3 times and all. It should be a fine motor to just toss in once sorted.
My friend wants the DCT so it's not available.
